Ich bin bei Jules

Ich bin bei Jules is a photobook that explores the life of my childhood friend’s father and his ideology about romantic relationships and sexuality. Jules' life interested me because of his four-decade-long engagement in an open marriage. Within this dynamic, his five children have been brought up in the philosophy of liberty and hedonism, some of whom have since established families of their own. By examining Jules, his familial relations as well as his intimate partners, my project aimed to show an unconventional model of interpersonal connections, investigate its repercussions on the family, and gain insights into the patriarchal mentality epitomized by Jules.

The project was created for my Masters Degree in Photography at Moholy-Nagy University of Art & Design.
